Kenya Alexander is a published and reputable hair stylist and texture expert based in Los Angeles, CA.
Getting her start in childhood, Kenya can think back on moments when she would be captivated for hours watching as her mother cleansed, braided and twisted the crowns of neighborhood women and men. Being engulfed in the hair care world so early, she naturally gravitated to and was able to absorb the magnanimity of what "caring for hair" really meant to people who looked like her. It was not long before she transitioned from styling her dolls to actually washing and helping her mother separate extensions and braid a paying clientele. After discovering her natural talent for hair care and styling, Kenya knew that she wanted to do more than just be behind the chair... she yearned for her work to be seen on the big screen by all... and thus, pursued her theatre degree at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh before studying at Santa Monica College and achieving a California state Cosmetology License. It wasn't until late 2016 that Kenya decided to take a leap of faith and make hairstyling her only source of income... and learned what it really takes to run a business while continuing to perfect her craft.
Kenya has built a stellar reputation for dependability, perfect styling and unparalleled professionalism when serving her long list of celebrity clientele including Jill Scott, Lynn Whitfield, Sofia Wylie, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Bresha Webb, Gabrielle Dennis, Shan Boody, VanJess, Nazanin Mandi, and Watt among many others.
Her work has been featured on Disney Channel, Netflix, Playboy, Facebook, Marvel and Shea Moisture and she has been lead stylist for many boutique brands including Nichole Lynel, Melanj Hair and Knappy Hair Extensions.
Having been formally trained and consistently providing personal services as well as sessions for the Television/Film and Beauty Industries, Kenya is well versed in all textures of hair. It is through this experience, coupled with continued education & a passionate, meticulous eye that she is proud to offer all clients a wide range of hairstyles that help reflect their individuality and personal needs.
